What Makes For The Perfect MC?

The MC (Master of Ceremonies) doesn’t have to be a family member when it comes to wedding receptions. Not all family members have excellent taste or the ability to speak eloquently. As such you may want to select an MC outside the normal family circle. In such an instance, you will want to look at the credentials of the MC, list of presentations, the ability to connect with the audience, entertain and ensure that proceedings move forward at the right pace. An horrific accident in 1989,  when Gaynor Young fell  18 metres at the Pretoria State Theatre during a performance of Camelot, left her  with brain damage, partial loss of hearing and eyesight as well as  memory loss.

Her story and her determined battle to rise above the devastation has been an  amazing inspiration for all who listen to her story.

In her book My Plunge to Fame, she tells how she had to glean information about her own life from reading old diaries and reviews.

Not only that, this courageous actress made a promise to herself that she would return to the stage. If anyone can tell a story of how one can pick up the pieces and start over, Gaynor Young can. Her plucky story makes one laugh and cry all at once.

Part of her healing has come in her motivational speaking …… she  inspires  people with the difficult lessons she’s learnt from an accident that nearly took her life and which she has triumphed over.
