Born in the Western Cape, and with a Phd from the University of Stellenbosch, nicknamed the Head Doctor or Kopdokter, Dr. Henning Gericke is Team Psychologist for the Springbok Rugby Team.
For more than 20 years he has been involved in competitive sports, breaking the 4 minute mile on 10 occasions.
He has helped teams like the The Pumas, The Blue Bulls and the Sharks rugby teams reach their maximum potential. In 2004 he was asked to join the South African Rugby Union as the Team Sport Psychologist.
Jake White swears by Henning’s distinctions and instincts around team dynamics, which he says are a critical component when moulding distinctly provincial players into a new national team.
An absolute highlight of his career was in 2007 when Dr Gericke, Jake White and the boys brought home the Webb Ellis trophy from the Rugby World Cup in France.
